Version 1.0 · effective from 1 October 2026 · earlier versions · English translation; in case of doubt the Slovak version prevails.
1+1=1 is a dating app built on verified real people. By using the app you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
The app is exclusively for people aged 18 and over. You enter your date of birth yourself. We ask for an ID document only when the face-scan age estimate doesn't reach the configured threshold and a person from the team is in doubt; we never store a copy of it.
The 18+ gate has two parts: a short face scan right in the app (section 3) and your full date of birth (day, month, year). Your age is worked out exactly as of today in your time zone. If you are not 18 yet, the account is blocked until the day of your 18th birthday and unblocks by itself on that day. The block also applies to the Apple or Google account you sign in with — deleting the account and signing up again does not get around it. The account is blocked in the same way if you later change the date in your profile to one under 18. If the date was entered by mistake, you can write to us from the app: the operator reviews the request — corrects the date and lifts the block, or rejects the request and the block stays until the 18th birthday.
From the face scan our server estimates an approximate age. If the estimate reaches the configured threshold (21 years by default), the age is verified automatically. If the estimate fails (for example an unsuitable frame or a technical error), the app asks for a new face scan; only when the estimate fails repeatedly or comes out below the threshold does a person from the operator's team check the age (they see the nickname, profile photo, age estimate and entered date of birth) and decides: adult, ID verification, or (operator only) under 18. When in doubt they ask for ID document verification (ID card, passport, driving licence or residence permit) with a short face check at the processor Didit. We never store a copy of the document or the photo; we keep only the result (18+ yes/no, the date of birth and country from the document, the day of verification and the processor's verification reference), and the date from the document replaces the entered one. Didit deletes the session after the result. Until the age is verified, the profile is not shown to others in Today and you can't send interest, accept a request or write messages; you can keep filling in your profile. Whoever doesn't want to provide an ID stays suspended (the account can be deleted at any time); verification is possible later too. We don't promise a specific time. If a person is suspected to be under 18 (for example from a report), the profile is temporarily suspended and only the operator can block the account as under 18 (until the 18th birthday). The face estimate never blocks anyone on its own.
We state the limits of this verification plainly: you enter your date of birth yourself and the face estimate is only approximate — it can be off by several years. That is why a person decides unclear cases.
During sign-up the app takes your photo directly inside the app — it does not accept a photo from the gallery. A short sequence of frames checks that a live person is in front of the camera and that exactly one face is in the frame.
This check is performed by our own server (api.joinfamiglia.com), not by a third party. The frames are sent to it for face verification and for estimating an approximate age (below); they are not written to disk, and the result kept is a yes/no answer, the degrees of head rotation and the age estimate number.
The frames serve to check that exactly one face is present and that the head really moves. From the frontal frames our server also estimates an approximate age (only the number is stored, never the frame) — it is used to verify 18+ as described in section 2. The estimate never blocks anyone on its own; when it doesn't reach the threshold, an ID document decides — until that verification launches, a person from the team (section 2). Other users do not see it. Gender is not estimated from the face.
Photos in your stash stay exclusively on your phone. When you pick a photo from the stash, it is uploaded to the server as UNPUBLISHED — no one but you sees it and it goes through the content check only once you publish it. If you take a photo with both cameras at once, it includes a small front-camera shot — checked the same way as the main photo; the same applies to the few words and the city with the photo. If you do not decide, the app deletes it after 7 days, the row and the file.
Signing up and creating a profile are free. When enough verified people gather in your region, the operator opens the region — and when at least one of your regions is open (the main one or another one; you count towards the waitlist only in your main region), the app asks for the fee for the first time (currently €5) — it is not a payment for verification (that is always free), it is a filter against non-serious sign-ups.
OPENING A REGION: the operator opens a region once enough verified people have gathered in it. A region does NOT open automatically when a set period passes. If it waits a long time, the operator decides whether to open it, merge it with a neighbouring region or let it wait longer.
MERGING REGIONS: if two neighbouring regions are each halfway to the threshold, we may merge them into one larger region and unlock it at once. Your area then expands by the neighbouring region.
FOUNDING MEMBERS (version 1.0): the entry fee has not been launched yet. Whoever finishes sign-up now is a founding member of their main region and has entry FREE FOREVER — the fee will not apply to them even after it is launched. Each region has a set number of founding spots; when they run out, the operator may raise the number or end founding status for new people in the region (sign-up continues). Founding status someone already has is never taken away. A founding code (e.g. from an event or a partner) grants the status even above the number of spots; a code may be limited to a region, a validity period and a number of uses, and the operator may cancel it — whoever redeemed it before keeps the status. Codes are not sold. To prevent guessing, after several wrong attempts the server rejects further attempts for 24 hours.
INVITATIONS AND ORDER: when someone enters your personal invite code, we move you up the line by the number of places the app shows you in advance when inviting. This means users between your old and new place move one place back. We say this openly because it also affects you when someone else invites. No one drops off the waitlist, a place in line can never be bought for money, and redeeming someone else's code gives the person who entered it no advantage — it does not skip the waitlist or the fee.
A phone number is NOT required (since 1 Oct 2026) — the app asks for it only the first time you share your contact. The app shows it to the other person only when exchanging contacts after a mutually confirmed meeting, and only when you share it and they accept. It serves EXCLUSIVELY as a contact detail — the app does not verify it and claims nothing about it. It is not proof of identity nor a guarantee of “one account per person”. It is never public, never shown on the profile, and only the person you decide to share contacts with sees it, and only mutually.
Location is optional. The app reads it approximately and once — at sign-up to suggest a region, and for a photo if you want to add the city. It is evaluated right on your phone; the coordinates never leave the phone — only the chosen region or the city name goes to the server. Your exact location is never shown to another user.
You can have a limited number of conversations open at once (the current limit is always shown in the app). The app follows the rhythm of a conversation — the number of messages, how balanced they are and the pace (how much you write per day) — and when it recognises you are ready, it suggests a meeting; it does not read or evaluate the content of your messages, not even on your phone — it is sent to the server only ENCRYPTED, in a form the operator cannot read (section 3 of the Privacy Policy). Contact details at a meeting are revealed field by field, always with your explicit consent. When you show interest in someone, a REQUEST is created: you can write to them right away, but the conversation opens — and counts towards the limit for both sides — only once they reply. An unanswered request expires automatically after the set period. The recipient can decline a request without the sender finding out; for the sender the request simply expires. The app does not show whether a message was read. A conversation in which no one writes anything for a longer time (the current period is shown in the app) closes automatically and frees a place in your limit. It is neither a sanction nor the other side's decision — the conversation stays available in History, it just can no longer be written in. A mutually confirmed meeting is never closed this way; such a conversation is closed after the meeting (and stays in History) only once nobody has written in it for 5 days (the operator may adjust this period) — and if either of you answers “Yes, we're keeping in touch”, it isn't closed at all.
Before a meeting you can save a trusted contact (name and phone number) to have at hand. IMPORTANT, AND WE SAY IT PLAINLY: the app itself SENDS NOTHING to this contact. Before the meeting one tap prepares a message saying where and with whom you'll be; after it starts your phone asks how it's going, and if you don't answer it reminds you to send the contact the prepared message — you send every message yourself from your phone. The “How's it going?” question is scheduled by your phone; the server never learns about Safe Date. An earlier wording claimed the app would alert the contact — it was not true and we corrected it. Safe Date is not and never will be an emergency line and does not contact the police or emergency services. Only you see the contact's name and number and you can delete them at any time.
The app has zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech, sexually explicit content and fake profiles. You can report or block another user at any time, from any profile or chat; when reporting you choose a reason from a list and the reported person learns nothing about the report.
When several different people report the same user, or when reports of not showing up to an agreed meeting repeatedly concern them from different people, the app automatically hides their profile — without a human looking at it at that moment. On a report “Looks like a minor”, the account is temporarily suspended at the very first report (a safeguard): it isn't shown to anyone and can't send interest or write, conversations stay; the person sees a neutral “We're checking your account” and a person from the team decides (adult → everything returns; minor → block until the 18th birthday and conversations end, decided only by the operator). Reports from someone whom the team repeatedly found mistaken don't trigger the safeguard. This is a solely automated decision based on a count (Art. 22 GDPR); the app always tells the affected user directly in the app and offers to request a review by a human. Manual hiding of a profile by an admin is a different case — a human always looked at it. Hiding is not a punishment or a decision of guilt — it is a temporary stop pending review and can be lifted at any time.
WARNING, SUSPENSION AND REMOVAL: reports and photos the automatic check wasn't sure about are reviewed by a person from our team — a moderator (a trusted user appointed by the operator) or the operator. A moderator can dismiss a report, send you a warning or temporarily suspend your profile (the length is set by the operator, 7 days by default). A suspended profile is not shown to new people and new conversations are not possible; ongoing conversations stay. The app always tells you that you are suspended, until when and the general reason — who decided is not disclosed. When the period ends, the profile comes back on its own. A moderator can only propose permanent removal; it is decided and confirmed solely by the operator. You can ask for a review of a suspension or of hiding directly in the app. A moderator does not handle cases of people they have been in contact with in the app, nor their own.
Photos are checked before anyone else sees them — when in doubt, the app would rather be stricter.
You can freeze your profile at any time (it disappears from the app, the verification and conversations are kept for a return; after 12 months frozen the account is deleted) or delete it permanently directly in the app (Settings → Leave 1+1=1). Deletion is real and cannot be undone — what is deleted right away, what within 30 days and what stays is described in the Privacy Policy (section 6). Deletion requires typing a confirmation word.
The app is provided “as is”. The operator is not responsible for other users' behaviour outside the app or for the course of real meetings — the app offers Safe Date as an aid, not a guarantee of safety. The operator may change or end the service at any time. The Terms have a version number and an effective date; earlier versions are at oneplusoneisone.eu/archiv. When signing up you agree to them by ticking a box, and the app records the version, date and time of your consent. When the Terms change, the app shows you a summary of the changes when you open it, and you can't continue without agreeing to the new version (you can delete the account at any time). The app notifies you of a new version of the Privacy Policy for your information.
